Positivity is the type of lifestyle that generates peace within and heals the emotional wounds that you are hiding from yourself. In today’s day and age, we are surrounded by negativity because of social media, the news, and rumors that arise. However, you have the choice to change the way you are living by fixing your thoughts about yourself, living in the present, and accepting what you cannot change.
Loving Yourself First
Whatever state of mind you are in at this moment is attracting your tomorrow- so why don’t you practice loving yourself first. Putting yourself first seems like a big order but remember, easy does it. Take things slow and start out with something simple such as reading a book, exercise, or pampering yourself. Loving yourself is not an occasion- it is a never-ending, enduring process.
You might feel like you cannot love yourself until you lose the weight you have wanted gone for years, get the significant other we have been restlessly searching for, or getting the raise we need to make it by. This is not true. Loving yourself comes from within, the rest will follow.
You have the power to change the way you think. You can love yourself as you are right now! It begins with you; wrapping yourself in your own affection and appreciation. You’ll be amazed at how simple and quick your life will change for the better.
Love is something you can choose. You can choose to forgive someone who hurt you and begin to heal. You can choose to be grateful for what you have. You can choose love. It’s always a choice within you. If you learn to love yourself, you will learn to live one day at a time.
Living in the Present
Choosing to live in anything but the present moment robs you from living, life will easily pass you by before your eyes and you will wonder where time has gone. The most important moment you have is the minute you are living right now. We don’t know what is going to happen in five minutes, and what you did yesterday is already over, so why stress on it?
Instead of focusing on what you could have done or could be doing, focus on what you are doing in this moment. Living in the moment is easy, always forgive past hurts, stop worrying, and never forget to smile- even if you have to force it. Start with taking a personal inventory, figure out what has been manifesting inside of you and work through it. Start with something simple like forgiving past hurts.
Forgiving someone or something seems like a big order. However, resentment is a number one offender when it comes down to trying to live in the present moment. We cannot change the past or shut the door on it, so feel the feeling you have been harboring and forgive whatever it is so YOU can move on and become stronger because of it. As soon as you have felt the feelings that have been bottled inside of you, it is time to let go.
If you are trying to live a positive lifestyle, worrying about something that is happening tomorrow, is going to prevent you from accomplishing anything today because your readdressing your spiritual energy somewhere else. Also, you may find yourself speechless at times by circumstances that you had no control over; circumstances that you cannot change no matter how hard you try.
Accepting What You Cannot Change
Acceptance begins with realistic outlooks about life itself; with the understanding that life is not always impartial, not everyone will like or love you, no one is flawless, and everyone experiences misfortune.
Acceptance comes with the comprehension that there is no true reality; no two people share the same exact observations, there are many points of view and there are many people. Acceptance is the realization that your point of view is not the only one that is right, logical or fair.
Acceptance encompasses the taming of your egos and the embracing of humility. It comes with believing we are worthy of all, but not authorized to anything other than our belief.
